This year, with the mild temps and frequent rain, it will likely be happening any day now. It is a good idea to have corn gluten on hand and apply it within the next 2 weeks.

Corn gluten works by preventing about 60% of the weed seeds from germinating. So, it will help to get control of the weeds. No, it does not completely eradicate weeds. As in all things organic, a healthy balance is the goal. A combination of hand weeding and corn gluten every season will greatly reduce the number of weeds over time. Eventually, that 60% control will be for a few weeds rather than a lawn full of them.
